![]() I created this sample project to demonstrate a learning solution directed at employees in one of my previous roles: telephone interviewers responsible for carrying out interviews to conduct public health research. Interviewers needed to both ensure that a high percentage of selected respondents completed the survey questionnaire, and conduct the survey in a consistent manner across all calls. The existing training model relied on a short verbal orientation and periodic feedback after live calls. This meant that interviewers might complete several calls before receiving important information about how to handle situations that might arise during interviews. The eLearning module solves the problem by presenting a range of scenarios for employees to think through before making live calls. Learning Objectives: 1) Understand the broad aims of the scientific survey; 2) Apply principles to maximize survey completion rates; 3) Apply principles to ensure consistency of delivery of the survey instrument in all cases. |

![]() The decision to make this module a scenario-based narrative experience stemmed from the original traning model used on the job—that is, feedback provided after a live call. The module begins with a short introduction to explain the broad principles learners will follow to make decisions duirng the narrative portion. All responses branch directly to a feedback screen, as the feedback is closely tied to the specific scenario. In the event that the ideal response was selected, the learner will proceed to the next call scenario after receiving confirmation; otherwise, the learner will revist the question after reading the feedback from the virtual assistant. |
![]() I designed this module with Articulate Storyline. I created custom graphics from PowerPoint clip art, with some further modifications made in GIMP. I completed the storyboarding and scripting within Articulate Storyline, supplemented by a text editor as necessary. Experience the full module by clicking any screenshot! |
